Join efforts to educate people, especially teens, about mental illness and fight the stigma associated with this disease

Education is the best thing we can do to funnel resources towards mental health issues, fight stigma, and help those going through illness recognize symptoms.

Help tackle stigma for discussion around mental health

Because of successful campaigns by the APA and others, 87% of Americans think mental illness isn’t something to be ashamed of but more can be done

Among young adults (18-34), the number is only 78% and a full 33% said they were scared of those with mental illness

Broadly speaking, talking about mental health openly is the best way to help fight stigma. It normalizes the issue. However, there are other methods you can use listed here.

Become involved in legislative advocacy

Legislation can’t be ignored. State resources are important to fighting mental illness and advocacy is necessary to prevent states from reducing budgets.
